Rodolphus obviously knew she wasn't married in her time but he still assumed that's what she'd meant. 'October' didn't change anything, he couldn't think of what would be associated with the month that he should remember. Then again, she was enveloped in the past. What proved to be so recent for her was long gone for him.
Once it was spelled out for him, he understood. Though he still didn't comprehend the significance of it for her. "Ah." He cleared his throat, more awkward than anything. Clearly he hadn't remembered it and honestly had nothing else to say on the matter. Hopefully she would just drop it and not pick it back up, at least for some time.
"No." She'd given him nothing but an open door, which he took without hesitation. Rod didn't mind taking what he wanted, even if he'd had none of these intentions to begin with. It made sense, though. He made sure she'd feel his large hands holding onto her as he leaned down to take a proper kiss, more deserving of their names and the life he remembered. Probably better than anything she'd received from his younger, relatively inexperienced, self.
