Lily winced, her heart breaking at James's list and was just about to tighten her hold of him when he decided to walk away instead to introduce himself to their daughter. That hadn't been what she'd intended by her question in the slightest, and the abrupt change from James's not entirely subtle hair-sniffing to literally walking away left Lily reeling.
She cleared her throat and adjusted the hem of her shirt at her hips as she joined them at the cushion, her arms crossed nervously.
"I'd watch it. She likes to grab your gla- Yep." Violet had snatched James's spectacles right off his face and was opening her mouth, her fat, tiny tongue already out in preparation for what was inevitably to follow. Lily would've helped get them back, only she didn't have much of anything else to replace them with and better James's glasses than a stick or a rock, honestly. "Your glasses, my hair, anything shiny or dangly or, if none of those are available, lips. Or cheeks. Noses..." The list obviously went on.
"It's great to see you two bonding, though!" she added through a laugh.
