Re: Aidan and Mickey
"I bet they can," Mickey said. "I know Jack as well. And Justin." He tucked his hands into his pockets as he stood up, looking at the cage. "But I know more than one person here. The doc, his friend," he nodded towards Micah and Nic, who he thought of more in context of Zania, but apparently that context didn't apply here. "And December obviously. But she's not. Same with the old guy."
"Yeah, I met December this morning. She's the one who came and told me about it," Aidan said. He couldn't even begin to go into how thankful he was for that. This was so much easier than doing it on his own. And better thought out. "I'd heard the doc mentioned, but I didn't know who he was," he said, looking towards Micah. It was good to put faces with names... or professions, in this case. "I'm Aidan, by the way," he said, offering his hand. "I work at the brewery, but usually in the back, not at the bar."
"Did she?" He needed to get back in the loop with her. Not that he needed to do everything with her, but he felt like he was missing things. Looking over at December his smile softened for an instant, but then the memory if Lily was there and pushed all of it out his mind. Not worth getting caught up in the thoughts and confusion there. "Mickey," he said taking the offered hand and giving him a small smile. "Handyman."
"Yeah, I think Jack sent her my way," Aidan laughed. "I was trying to pull something like this together on my own, for my family, but this is much better than anything I could have come up with." Looking at it now, he was sure anything he would have built would have broken. Mickey's design was much more sturdy. "Nice to meet you," he smiled. "Next time you're in O'Reilly's, ask for me and you'll have drinks on the house."
"So through Mannix." God, he really needed to be involved. "This is what I do," he said shrugging one shoulder. "Fixing things so they don't break." He nodded a little. "I might take you up on that offer. But we'll see how tomorrow goes first."
"Who's Mannix?" Aidan asked, scanning the group. There were so many people he didn't know. It was a sign that he really needed to get out more. Family was great, but they weren't the end all, be all. "Making beer is what I do," he grinned, "And I'd say that after tomorrow night, we may all need a beer or two." Or three, or four.
"Jack's brother. He'll be here later." Or so Mickey assumed, though he wasn't about to come out before the sun went down. Downfall of being a vampire. "Beer making? That's a skill I wish I had. Though if we make it through this, we're gonna need something stronger. I got on the wrong end of one of those wolves, thankfully missed the jaws, but if it's anything like that..." he tapped his side lightly. "I'm still hurting."
"Gotcha. I'll watch for him." Though once the sun went down, Aidan would be looking for Sylvia. He wanted to dedicate as much time as possible to this project, but he didn't like the idea of her scared and alone either. "It's a good skill in the dome, but it wasn't so useful on the outside," Aidan said. There, he was better as a thief, a bad habit he'd probably never give up. "Gotta be careful, man. I want to be here tomorrow night, to see what happens, but from a safe distance."
"This wasn't so useful outside the dome. I just picked it back up from before the zombies. Only thing I didn't really get back was working on cars." Mickey shrugged. "I was hunting. So there were bound to be some injuries. I'll live. Honestly been through worse."
"God, I miss cars. I have my bike in here, but I don't ride it as much as I want to," Aidan grinned. It was a good way to get around town fast, but town really wasn't that big. For not the first time, he wished the dome was at least twice as large. At least. "Do you think those were werewolves? The ones that bit them?"
