For Lochlan, the kiss had different meaning. It wasn't exciting him so much as waking him up, making him feel alive, tethered to something real. He needed the connection but he wasn't sure he wouldn't have taken this from anyone who offered it at this point. He wanted to know that he wanted it just from her before he let it go further. It was simply in his nature and his experience to know that it wouldn't be a good thing if it turned out to be the former for him but the latter for her… or vice versa. So when she pulled back he nodded slowly, licking his lips and gently releasing his hold on her. He didn't let go completely though, his hands still on her back but he wasn't holding her to him anymore. "Yeah, one kiss before dying, hm?" he said but his tone was light, trying not to hold any doom and gloom in it from before. He opened his eyes, having closed them when her lips found his, and looked at her quietly.
Lily shook her head lightly, remaining just as close to him as she had been during the kiss despite the fact he had relinquished his hold. “You’re not dying on me.” Even though he had said it in more of a light hearted manner, Lily wasn’t quite at the point she could smile to it just yet. Instead, she opted to resort back to what brought her so much higher than where she had been before, lightly pressing her lips to his again. She had dropped her hand from his hair to rest on the back of his neck, fingers of her other hand lightly tracing patterns on his chest. She remained quiet as she slowly pulled back from the kiss, enjoying being in the quiet of the moment together. She didn’t feel a need to say anything, even in silence she was as comfortable with him as if they were engaged in the most entertaining of conversations.
"No, it's just a figure of speech. I don't plan on doing anything of the sort." And he really didn't. Her kiss had bolstered his courage somehow and he felt like he had a lot more keeping him going just now. It was amazing what a small act such as a kiss could do for him. Then she kissed him again and the tone of this kiss was different, softer somehow, and he followed her into it, letting his fingers trail her back in what he hoped was comforting until she pulled back again. There was a depth to her, something open, honest, and perhaps vulnerable that he'd picked up through their entire time together, last night and today. It was what attracted him most to her. He sat there in silence with her, gazing into her eyes and soaking up that depth as much as he could, knowing he couldn't stay here doing that forever. Yet wanting to anyway.
Several minutes had passed with Lily returning his gaze, her breathing and heart rate slowing back to their regular rhythms. A part of her hadn’t wanted to break the silence of the moment, but the other half had a strong desire to make a request of him. She wasn’t sure if he would be okay with it or not, but she figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. “Will you lay down with me?” She quickly added, “just out here. On the couch. No funny business, I promise.” She felt silly giving a full disclosure, but she wanted to make sure he understood what she was asking for right now was nothing more than some more time to be close to him. She wondered if he’d be so willing after the impending full moon stress had worn off and such a sense of urgency no longer existed.
