"I think it was because a lot of the surf tribes who slept on the beach ended up leaving behind broken bottles and other dangerous garbage. They wanted none of that on their beaches and I don't blame them. Buddy of mine shredded his foot about halfway through the summer and had to go home early. We were always careful but the patrol officers didn't know that. We just looked like bums on their beach." He played with the ends of her hair as he talked.
"Ah we can do it another time," he said with a slight shrug. "You should enjoy yourself as much as you can with that." Without having to feel like she had to leave at some point to go tree sleeping with him. They didn't need to rush anyway. If it was after the full moon there was no strict timeline for anything anymore. "I do, don't I?" he mused and thought of dancing with her in the high hide under the stars. Wasn't he the sappy romantic? He had a hard time thinking that after tonight she'd be interested in a slow mover like him but it was fun to think about right now. "I suppose I'll have to come by the club at some point when you're up and running smoothly. Or, you could come by the pub again and start the dancing trend again with me."
“That makes sense..” Lily said thoughtfully. Now that the beaches really weren’t a concern anymore, she supposed it was too little too late. But at least now she knew! She did lift her head this time from Lochlan’s shoulder to look him in the face, the pull of a frown threatening to make itself prominent on her lips. “No.” She insisted, “we need to do it this weekend. It will be the perfect way to celebrate!” She intercepted the frown with a reassuring smile, knowing that she without a doubt wanted to do it as soon as possible. “Or we could even do it before the weekend.” She offered up the idea before her attention shifted to the topic of dancing, being far too easily distracted. “How about both? We’ll start our own little dance riot at the pub and then you can come show everyone how’s it done at the club.” She continued with a wink, “Drinks on me.”
Lochlan saw that frown beginning and wondered if it was displeasure or she was the type of girl to pout to get her way. He'd been of a mind to kiss the frown away. Whichever it was, he was glad to see her smile instead. "I suppose you have a point there, Doctor Lalala. We should celebrate." Celebrate. He hadn't thought about doing that. Celebrate what though? That he made it through the full moon or that he successfully turned into a mythological monster? And she seemed keen on doing the celebrating sooner rather than later. He had to smile slightly at that enthusiasm even as she shifted to the next topic. "Dance riot, eh?" he said thoughtfully, giving her a bit of accent again. "Sure, I suppose we could do that. We'll have to be sure that we don't put shame to too many club goers though. Might not come back and then where would you be with no club to work in?"
Excitement dominated Lily’s dark eyes as the accent came out to play again, bringing a delicate finger to rest on his lips at the end of his sentence. “Did you hear it? What are you trying to do to me?” She asked playfully, on the move again. She turned herself further towards him and shifted her leg over so she could straddle Lochlan, resting on his lap as she removed her finger from his lips. “Or,” She countered. “People could be incredibly inspired by your dancing. They’d practice all day and night and then challenge you to dance battles, and pretty soon you could have your own dancing competition, and between that and the fight club, you’ll be a dome celebrity. A household name.” She had illustrated multiple points of her grand story with hand gestures to really bring it to life. “Then I can be your manager and personal assistant, and we can go on exotic vacations to our tree get-a-way as much as we want.” She looked to him with a big smile.
