A Quick Note from Dew...

After posting my first Nanette scene, I wanted to make sure we're all on the same page about this.

I am writing a character born and bred of an era when skin color determined a person's worth in the eyes of many. Vain, haughty and certain of these old-world ideals, the character's viewpoints on races and classes are archaic and offensive.

I just want it to be clear that these sort of viewpoints are not my own. I am stepping well outside my own belief system to write a character who is a product of a less enlightened time. I would hope no one would be offended by some of the things my character will think and say.

That being said, I have no plans to ever use any racial slurs and I would hope that writing a character of this mindset won't lead anyone else to do so.

Thanks.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled writing :)

Character Profiles

Just a quick reminder from your friendly neighborhood mods.

Character profiles should be placed on your journal profile page. Please use the version that was decided upon after other writers' comments.

This provides a quick reference source for your scene partners without having to scroll through journal entries in search of the profile.

Thanks so much!

Hi folks

Just a quick FYI, I will be posting and doing further work on character bios, but I have an important essay - as in my end of module assessment - due in this Friday before 12 noon so (I'm all in a tizz about getting it done) dedicating all my free time to cracking it out before Friday as well... I'm at work on Friday!

Just wanted to let you know.

good to be back

Bahahaha!

Nanette: Nanette glanced at the doorway; Martín had already begun ambling towards the kitchen. The old man had been a good investment in his day, though it was clear his years were coming to an end. Nanette was considering keeping his head after he’d gone, as a remembrance. Though it certainly wouldn’t fit in with the rest of the collection.

And Also Tee-Hee!
Marguerite: “Of course.” Marguerite didn’t understand, unless she considered the fact that Nannette was...what was the phrase? Batshit Crazy? In either case she was too polite to say so as a guest in the woman’s house, and kept her expression unchanged as she lifted the coffee cup to her lips.
