New Muse - Stargazer
You'd think that being born with a name like Montague would bring the drama into some people's lives, or at least make things more interesting. Not so for Judy Montague, who was born into a depressingly normal family. Born in Atlanta, her father Cal was an architect and her mother Jean worked as an accountant until she finally retired. Having dreams of being an actress, Judy tried out for most of the plays her school offered, but she never got the reviews she was hoping for. Whether this was due to a lack of talent or simply a lack of appreciation on the part of others came to be a sore point for the young woman, and she eventually took her flair for dramatics away from the stage and into the costume department.
Shortly after graduating from college, where she got a degree in business management, Judy began attending small pagan-based events, where she finally found a home of sorts among the strange and often wonderful people she met there. A ritual circle was the one place she wasn't afraid to let her hair down, and she got a reputation for being particularly fearless when it came to getting things started. She wasn't sure she believed at first, but she's gone past the point of just finding her interest trendy and into something more serious.
In 2009, her aunt Deirdre passed away, and when the time for reading the will came, Judy was surprised that the woman had left her a piece of property, a two-story house in Honfleur. Having no children, there was no on else to leave it to, and after some consideration she decided that a change of scenery might do her some good, so Judy packed her bags and made the move to Louisiana. She found the house somewhat rundown but still livable, so she moved into the top floor and made plans on what to do with the rest of the space. It was during this time that she decided to open up Best Kept Secrets, a bookstore that would cater to occult studies and the world of magic. Over the space of a year and a half, she's built up a decent clientele (both believers and otherwise) and is looking forward to spending the next few years being a hub of the pagan world.
She may not have gotten her dream of being a world-famous actress, but where she is on her path can be just as exciting.
Physical Description: Judy is a natural blonde who, depending on her mood, can either dye streaks into her hair or go red for a few weeks. A little on the short side at 5'7", she makes up for the lack of height by wearing eye-catching colors and big, dangly earrings. Very much a girly girl.
Personality: Exuberant and outgoing, Judy's often the first to try making friends with strangers, which has occasionally led to her lending money (or extending store credit) to those who can't pay it back. Still, she's usually got a big smile and/or a friendly hug for those she meets. A bit of a Pollyanna, she sees the best in people even when it isn't readily apparent.
Weaknesses: Impatience, since she doesn't enjoy waiting for anything. Part of the reason she gave up on being an actress was precisely because it didn't happen soon enough, and over the years she's had to tamp down her natural tendency to just give up on things when they don't immediately pan out. And despite her business management skills, she's a soft touch when it comes to money. Any sob story can have her pulling out her wallet, and she frequently gives to homeless people when they ask for change.
Strengths: Judy's open heart is her best feature, and she's let that help her build a network of friends and acquaintances that help her store thrive even in hard economic times. No matter what, Judy's always the first to help someone when she can. and that's helped her get quite a reputation as a helping, healing sort of person.
