"I also got two," Alix answered, smiling down at Sloane. "Full blooded, though you'd never know it. One older and one younger. Older sister, too."
They shrugged preemptively. "I'm from South Texas and I guess there's like, not much to do but pop out kids."
Despite being from Texas, Alix didn't have a trace of the stereotypical yeehaw accent portrayed in most media. In fact, they didn't feel very "Texan" at all. They didn't feel particularly of any place, if they were honest, and that's probably why the cirque suited them so well. Sloane, for all of her put together cheerfulness, probably felt the same. No one normal joined the circus, just like no one normal joined a band.
Alix was used to not prying because of this knowledge, so didn't now. Instead they bumped Sloane with their hip and did not release the comment about Sloane being the family princess on their tongue. "Okay so like, ramen's great and all, we have decided. But what about pizza. I think that's probably the perfect food. Carb base. Infinite possibilities."
