"Uh huh," Price confirmed, nodding his head. "I love it out there, I really do. This is the first time I've been home in four years," he confessed, suddenly feeling guilty about ditching the east coast in favor of the west.
"I just didn't really have a reason to come home - " he stopped himself from blurting out his first instinct - after I broke up with you - and improvised. "It's just a lot of money, and my parents came out to see me, sometimes."
Speaking of families reminded him of Davina's baby sister and brother, who he supposed weren't exactly babies anymore. "That reminds me .. how are your folks? And the kids? They must be so grown-up now, huh?"
It was weird to think that little Shiloh and Oliver had aged in the years since he'd seen Davina, but obviously they had, just like everyone else. Still, Price couldn't help but picture them in his mind's eye as they'd been the last time he'd seen them.
