"Yeah," Ashley agreed. Jack was -- for the most part. He was scared like she was, but scared for different reasons. Jack never said he was scared about not loving the baby, just scared about being able to raise a good person.
"He... worries, though," Ashley added, the words turning painful as she pushed them through the imaginary steel bars. It didn't take her long to feel uncomfortable with too much talking. Katie could talk her ear off and she'd be content listening and drinking her tea. But after the conversation had been on her for too long, the anxiety inside her started to build up and she found herself very uncomfortable, even with a close friend like Katie.
"But it's fine," she quickly finished, focusing her gaze on Novelia before settling with staring at the floor.
