Ashley shrugged again. "If I wanted to, I could find out what it is," she told Katie. She knew all along she didn't want to find out what the baby was. She was scared that if it was a girl, Ashley might have a hard time loving it. She still had a hard time loving herself, Jack's sister was terribly hard to handle and she didn't have any sisters. She wanted a boy.
"Brooke texts me these tests I can do," she added. "How I hold my glass and my hands show if the baby is a boy or a girl." She didn't add that she purposely left her phone at home. That seemed mean, but Brooke stressed her out. How she and Jack could be related was beyond her.
