Allie nodded slowly, at a loss for words and feeling a twinge of guilt. While she never had to go through what Noah or his ex did, there was a time with Beau where she thought she might have to. She knew having a kid with him would have been one of the worst moves of her life -- second only to marrying him in the first place -- and when she thought she might be pregnant, abortion was the only solution she could come up with. Aborting a baby she didn't want when someone else in the world couldn't have one seemed like the ultimate selfish move.
"I'm sorry..." she finally told him, for lack of anything better to say. She toyed with the napkin for a moment before shrugging in Noah's direction. "Maybe it was... a sign?" she offered lamely. "I mean... not to get all spiritual and crap on you, but...--" she shrugged again, "-- maybe it just wasn't... right..."
