Elise settled in on the sofa to wait for Garrett, knowing how lucky she was that Benson would still be her friend after this. She wasn't quite sure how they had managed to stay such close friends over the years because she wasn't great about keeping in touch with people, but at this point she knew that she was stuck with him. Even after ranting and raving and eventually leaving, he still cared about her and wasn't going to give up on her. It kind of relieved her because part of her wanted to change; she wanted to fall in love and be loved back, even if she didn't show it. It was nice to know that her best friend would be there for her if she ever wised up or if she never did.
Garrett chose that moment to walk in the door of the apartment and simultaneously throw his backpack down with one hand and swing the door shut with the other. "Hey babe!" he grinned, running a hand through his shaggy brown hair as he walked towards the sofa and sat down beside her.
She knew that she was going to erase the pleasure from his gorgeous blue eyes and it hurt her to say, "Hey, I need to talk to you about something...."
