"Dammit, Stace, that's not what I meant!" Sam protested, feeling like a bit of an asshole now. "I just meant that ... I don't know. Why do we need the official title?" he questioned.
"I mean, we're practically married as it is. Can't we just let things ... stay the same?"
Sam really didn't understand this much fuss over the word marriage. It lead to a whole new set of expectations for the both of them, which would lead to stress, that would inevitably eventually break them down, make them fight - much like they were doing now. The early stages of marriage weren't called 'the honeymoon stages' for nothing.
