With almost any other girl, Benson would have interpreted Mallory's move to mean "SEX" and his brain would have shut down completely as his body rushed to respond with a "YES, PLEASE!" Mallory was different, though. Benson struggled to count how many days they had been back together while he continued to kiss her.
Seventeen days. Because they had spent as much time as possible together during those days, it felt like much longer than two-and-a-half weeks. In fact, Benson was feeling more and more like they had never broken up, So really, he justified to himself, it's like we've been together for years.
Yet, this was Mallory and he wasn't positive that the shy girl that he'd always known would knowingly make such a blatant move. What if she doesn't mean what I think she means? He really didn't want to upset her by trying to go too far too soon.
That thought led to another. What if she thinks that she has to have sex with me because.... Benson wasn't sure how to end the thought, but knew that any possibility had something to do with Brian. The guy had practically had Mallory brainwashed and Benson didn't want her rushed right into--
Rushed right into what? A serious relationship? Then what's this? He knew or had figured out that Brian had bossed the life out of her and Benson didn't want Mallory to feel pressured simply because she was used to feeling pressured all the time.
And maybe I'm over thinking things. He decided to clear things up by pulling away from Mallory and giving her a quizzical look. "Are you sure?" he asked, his tone slightly suggesting that he didn't think she was certain.
