"I know," she said almost in a whisper. She could feel tears gathering at the corners of her eyes, and she turned away hastily. She cleared her throat to get rid of the lump which had formed. "Thanks. I really appreciate it," she promised.
She didn't really want to leave, now. Half of her wanted to stay and tell Benson everything. It would feel good to unload everything that had been weighing on her for what felt like forever. But she couldn't do that. It wouldn't be very appropriate for her to complain about her current boyfriend to her ex. That was a big no-no.
