When Mallory adjusted her dress, Benson's eyes immediately went to the hem that she'd just tugged on. He couldn't help it; he was a guy and she was a girl that he was once in love with and still very attracted to...and she had nice legs.
He looked back up to her face almost as soon as his eyes had dropped, though. "Salinger is great," he said easily. "Cary and Mad think that he's the smartest kid ever created, of course, but they're biased as hell. He's pretty witty, though, and has the makings of a real smartass. Mad says that he's completely Cary's Mini Me, but if you catch him misbehaving and ask what he's doing, he gets this calculating look on his face like he's trying to figure out whether he should even try lying, and I swear that he looks just like Mad when he does."
Benson realized that he sounded like he was bragging and he grinned. "I guess that I should be more worried about his future, huh?"
