Anthony was not at all surprised by Lavender's kiss this time. He had been wanting to do the same for much of the afternoon. After a full minute, enjoying the softness of his girlfriend's lips, his hands on the small of her back pulling her close to him, Anthony finally stepped back. "I'm relieved it went as well as it did. I have to be honest, Lavender, I had my worries. And more than just the typical 'boyfriend meeting the parents for the firs time' sort of worries."
Unconsciously he ran his fingers through his unruly hair. "With the third degree that Pansy gives me every time we cross paths, combined with disagreements you and your mother had a few months ago..." Anthony didn't even need to complete the sentence to get his point across. He had a valid reason to think that Mrs. Brown would not like him.
Anthony left the gifts in the corner before heading to the bedroom to collect the presents he had purchased for his family. Carrying several various shaped boxes in the living room, he knew he'd have to shrink them in order to make them portable enough for travel.
