By the time Padma had heard about Lee's little 'accident' yesterday it was already rather late, and she had tired out much sooner than expected. Such was the case those days she worked in the Death Chamber. It was draining, and she had absolutely no one outside of the job she could talk to about it. Padma was required to leave her work at the Ministry come the end of the day. It had never been truly hard to do up until recently. For some reason she was feeling more and more disconnected from just about everyone the past few weeks. Her twin sister was busy sorting out ideas for her next big career leap, and Anthony had been pouring over politics and his lady friend. Certainly any one of her mates likely would have taken Padma in if she'd only reached out to them, but she kept telling herself this was for the better anyway. It was nature's way of weeding her out of the equation, at least enough so that whenever that List circled back to her again she'd be ready. No one could be a target if Padma flew solo, right?
That evening anything but the List was on her mind. She felt like a pitiful friend, having heard of Lee's condition and not even dropping him so much as an owl or a 'get well soon' entry on her journal. Sure she was still a bit raw over the fact her mate had set George up for Halloween, and yeah, she was foggy on what exactly was said the night she and Lee got wasted at his party. That was all in the past though. Irritated or not, her friend was likely bored out of his sodding mind up at Mungo's, and a bored Lee only could mean one thing: further damage to himself, the surrounding property, and/or other people.
Padma packed up her things after work and left the Ministry to head straight for Mungo's. She stopped at the Welcome Witch to see what Lee was in for considering there were likely several floors his injuries could have planted him on, some of which took overflow patients. Just as she suspected, he wound up on the Spell Damage floor. Apparently his splinching was the chief injury he'd sustained, among others. Almost as soon as she'd walked through the door, Padma draped her robe over a nearby chair. "Were you really feeling this restless, Lee? You know, I did offer to get you another pet, but if wasn't your cuppa you could have just said as much," she teased, her smile almost immediately fading when she turned and saw the state her friend was in. Brushing her hair from her eyes, sensing it was quite the foot-in-mouth moment, she gave an apologetic smile before walking over to the side of his cot and rubbing his arm. "All right there, love?"
