WHO: Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, and NPC Evan Potter WHEN: August 14 WHERE: Looe, Cornwall, England RATING: TBA SUMMARY: Ginny, Harry, and Evan celebrate Ginny's birthday.
Ginny hadn't really said anything about how she wanted to celebrate her birthday. Normally she was full of ideas, excited for weeks beforehand that it was about to arrive and waiting anxiously for presents. But Harry had gone and given her a ring, which had replaced most of her birthday excitement with wedding plans. There also had been quidditch to contend with. Thanks to the delay of the playoffs, spending her birthday on the pitch had been required and Ginny had gone happily. The team had cake at lunch, and she had gone home to find her parents in the kitchen with dinner and even more cake.
Celebrating with Harry and Evan had been left to Sunday, her one day away from the team and the one Harry had claimed earlier in the week. She hadn't asked any questions beyond what she and Evan needed to wear, but she knew Harry had a master plan which was good enough.
Looe wasn't a place where she had gone before, but the small village was perfect for wandering around. It was a fishing village tucked among several shallow coves and small beaches, bolstered by the breezes that made Cornwall one of the better portions of England to live in with slightly more amiable weather.
After a morning of wandering the high street, making a stop at the muggle carnival near the bay, and walking Evan along the waves they had sat down to lunch on a hill overlooking the water. Ginny had unpacked everything, noting that her mum had provided the dessert, and was in the process of feeding Evan bits from her own plate while the 14 month old sat in her lap.
"This really has been a lot of fun," Ginny said to Harry, looking out towards the water. "I've never really spent much time in Cornwall, but it's rather nice." Of course, Shell Cottage was in Cornwall, but it was a fair statement nonetheless. A trip to Bill and Fleur's house hardly made her familiar with the region, especially since they didn't live near one of the villages.
