Who: Lee and George What: Shenanigans When: Late Monday afternoon Where: George and Padma's cottage by the sea Warnings: Language. Duh.
It was far too nice of a day to be cooped up inside of his shop, so George had come home early, hoping to coax Padma out of the house in swimwear for a little time on the beach. That had failed miserably.
After quietly closing the bedroom door so Padma could get that nap she'd been hoping for all day, George moved about the rest of the house, opening windows and doors to coax the spring sea breeze into the house. Mo bounded out the open back door into the sunshine and George, book in hand, dropped to sit on the top step of the porch, looking out over the grassy field that dissolved into sand and then into sea.
Leaning his shoulder against the rail post, he opened his book and allowed himself to get lost in the story. He wasn't aware of how much time had passed before he heard the crack of someone arriving and lifted his hand to shield his eyes from the glaring sun.
"Hey," he said as Lee materialized from the sunshine.
