The strikingly handsome quintet from Birmingham, led by singer Simon Lebon and keyboardist Nick Rhodes, pumped out three decades of top hits including "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Rio", "Save A Prayer" and "The Reflex". Their music videos, often shot in exotic locales around the world, became MTV chart-toppers. Their equally popular live act peaked with a global audience of millions at 1985's "Live Aid". A new album is set for release in Fall, 2007.

If we had promo buttons, a banner, icons, or a layout to represent this community -- and the 80s, of course -- what images and themes would you choose? I haven't played around with anything yet, and would love suggestions and to see what other people come up with too.

And though it actually started in the 70s, I remember watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve for almost every year in the 80s. I wavered in the 90s when I went off to college and a short stint in grad school, but there I am again!

So I'm curious, did you watch Dick Clark, or do something else?

I'm not sure if anyone else has heard (okay, you probably have!), but a remake of the television series The A Team is planned for 2008. IMDb has a page up here, but given the Writers' Strike I'm not sure how realistic a 2008 release date is.

But in any case, I bring you Mr. T vs Everything! The first one I ever remember reading is Mr. T vs Mr. Bean, but alas, none of them will ever compare to the T'inator, a Babelfish-type translator that would translate any web page into T-speak.
