How strange. To know that someone was here from your world but didn't recognize who you were. That would be so surreal. Mikasa didn't know how she would handle a situation like that. It would be like...if someone from the regiment appeared here from before she'd joined, where she knew them but they didn't know her yet. She wasn't going to apologize though for the other girl's troubles. It wasn't her place to apologize for that.
"Have you tried to speak to them here? If you were family once, I am certain that they would like to be your family again," Mikasa commented softly, determined that this was true. She believed it to be true. Her hand lowered from the scarf to where she folded her hands on the table in front of her, glancing across at her companion.
She wished she could say that she couldn't imagine what this woman had gone through, but the sad truth was that she knew her story all too well. At least her family was here. That was something.
