Realistically a human would be no harder to freeze than a middle-sized animal, and easier than a large one, but it does feel different. Perhaps because we expect to be able to spot unusual dangers better than animals. Or, yes, because on the assumption that someone's doing it deliberately it's an escalation mentally if not physically.
