There was something about being in Chris's presence that made Lito feel lighter. He couldn't put a finger on it, but he knew there was something. Chris didn't judge him; in fact, he opened his arms to Lito and welcomed him, flaws and all. Why that was, Lito didn't know. He honestly didn't feel worthy of that kind of acceptance, but he'd been given it anyway -- from Hernando, from Daniela, from the other sensates, from his friends in Mount Weather. Lito had lived in fear of rejection for so long that he always expected it around every corner. It hadn't surprised him when Hernando had walked away, not really. He'd fooled himself into thinking it could last forever. What had hurt was finally having proof that he was a failure as a person. But that was something he could fix. He couldn't fix much of anything here. He couldn't bring his friends to him.
He could, however, make new ones, and that would have to be enough. It was impossible to feel upset about anything when Chris was in such a good mood, anyway. Even though his mind drifted, Lito didn't feel sad. He felt pumped up, like he could do anything he set his mind to.
"Whatever you want, my friend," Lito answered. "I would show you the dance I'm working on with MJ, but that would be spoiling the surprise. What do you want to learn?"
