Re: Nico + Anakin
As promised, Anakin had stayed near both of his parents during the battle. He'd been in some tight situations before, kidnapped, fighting not so extinct kryat dragons on Tatooine, and much of his training as a Jedi had built to exactly this sort of situation, but it didn't mean that the intensity of the battlefield wasn't altogether more than what Anakin had expected. It was times like this that Anakin really, really missed his siblings or Tahiri. The three of them could have easily pulled together and fought together, even he and Tahiri could pull on each others strengths and heighten what they could do together. Right now he only had himself to rely on - himself and the Force and so Anakin poured himself into it with the determination and faith of a kid who honestly believed that it would solve any problem.
In the quiet before the battle he'd questioned whether this was a Jedi's answer to this problem, and the conclusions he'd come up with had been, well, inconclusive at best, but at only fifteen and just barely a month's worth of understanding of this place, all of the possible thoughts he'd had about what they might be able to do to solve the problem were piecemeal at best and what it came down to ultimately was that the wolves were going to attack the camp, attack his family, and attack his friends - and there was no way he could sit that out. Jacen maybe, he might have been able to, but Anakin couldn't. And whatever hesitance he'd had initially about killing them had been scared away in the first few moments, after he'd felt one leaping after his Mom from behind, and he'd cut the wolf off.
He could feel each wolf in the Force, and the presences of both of his parents, and stretched out into the Force he could get those tiny shifts in the Force, the hints of what was to come allowing him to pull on the Force to leap out of the way, bringing his lightsaber back down and through the hind legs of a werewolf, and then through the wolfs heart. And it was through the Force that his danger sense kicked in, but not for himself - for a friend. Anakin turned, his back to his parents for the moment allowing them to keep on that side of him as he focused, seeking the source of the trouble.
Nico. The sense of danger was focused around his new friend who Anakin couldn't really see through the dark shadow of a wolf that seemed to be on top of him. The distance between the two was impassable, but it wasn't the first time Anakin had found himself in a situation where he'd been unable to reach a friend in need and had to come up with an alternative and ever practical Anakin did the first thing that came to mind, which was to reach out in the Force to slow the beat of the wolf's heart and breath.
