I'm still adjusting, to be honest. I was one of the first people to arrive, and I'd spent my entire adult life both as a doctor and as an officer in Starfleet. Adjusting to the lack of such a strict chain of command is taking some time, but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to do so within the next five or so years.
Your reality doesn't sound so different from mine, in that way. My commanding officer was an anthropologist and archaeologist of sorts, and listening to him discourse on one civilization or made for interesting evenings.
If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We're all in this together, and we all help each other through the rough patches. Have you been introduced to Charles Xavier, who is also working as a counselor under the aegis of medical administration?
