Q&A with Alison Hendrix
While I believe that my competitors care deeply for the wellbeing of all people here, and want to take care of them, they've primarily looked at things from a defensive standpoint: how can we protect the citizens of Mount Weather? And I understand that, I do. I'm protective of my children and the people I love, and as part of this community I think we all need to think of each other as family.
But what does it mean to care for a family? It goes beyond guard rotations and protective measures. It means boosting morale, taking care of one another with community projects. I founded Mount Weather Community Theatre as just such a project, and I've been making soap for people over the last several weeks, and caring for the children here. I think it matters that we have someone on the council who has been actively attempting to not just protect Mount Weather with military strength, but also fostering a sense of community spirit. Captain Rogers and Inquisitor Adaar both believe in these things, but you'll notice that they don't actively take steps to arrange the movie nights, or make chocolate cake in the kitchens, or host a reading group. We need someone on the council who cares about these projects and is willing to treat them as vital components of Mount Weather's survival.
