Erik frowned, and the simplicity in his expression hid the rage that he actually felt. Years may have passed, universes might have separated them, but the Nazis he knew and the HYDRA people spoke of now were one and the same, and no matter how men like Grant Ward protested, they were no different now than before. Toothless, perhaps, but still dangerous.
"They wanted to see you develop in isolation," he said quietly. Whether or not this was true didn't matter, and Erik couldn't think of any other reason for it. Wanda and Pietro were more dangerous together, for certain. Twins, both of them with extraordinary powers. Only a fool would allow them to work together if keeping them captive was part of the plan.
"They kept me away from everyone," he admitted after a moment. "They only let me befriend people in order to take them from me, to get a certain reaction."
He didn't usually talk about any of this, but Wanda seemed like the sort of girl who needed to feel like she wasn't alone.
