thread: remus lupin + owen hunt WHO: Remus Lupin + Owen Hunt WHEN: Tuesday, April 7 [Before the power outage -- and possibly during] WHERE: Infirmary WHAT: Remus visits Owen for a follow-up. While some of the medical staff know what he is, the actual doctors have yet to figure it out, and Owen's got some questions he wants to ask. CONTENT WARNINGS: Low, but probably some wildly incorrect assumptions about how Remus got those scars, which may range from self-harm to abuse.
______________
Remus had been in bed for the better part of two days. Most of it was spent sleeping, some of it was spent politely speaking with medical personnel when they checked in on him and his friends, and some of it was spent bickering with Sirius because the git had decided to magic his stitches out and reopen the gash in his leg.
Idiot.
Stupid, beautiful idiot. Sometimes Remus would catch himself snapping at Sirius, bickering and fussing like nothing had ever happened and they were still sharing that flat, before the war pushed them apart. His laughter around him now — around any of them — was always coupled with the urge to cry. He felt like he was nothing but an emotional bundle of raw nerves these days, and despite how happy he was to be there and have a second chance with them, he couldn't help feeling like all of this was going to be taken away. He'd lost it all before, so why not now? He felt like he was waiting for the other shoe to drop, when the strange events of the last week stopped feeling like a blessing and started to feel like a curse.
He could sense the clock ticking. Two people, at least, had uncovered what he was (due to some books, apparently). Doctors were curious about what he'd said to explain away the condition he'd been in, and though he'd been in dire need of medical attention he'd waved them off. Perhaps he should have done what Sirius told him to do — let them look and prod, because they were Muggles anyway and would hardly have been looking for a werewolf. It wouldn't have even occurred to them, they couldn't run a test and have it come back positive for werewolfry, so why not let them fuss? Give them a little peace of mind, let them back off.
Remus didn't personally like the idea, but he needed Sirius to shut up.
So that was how he found himself sitting on a bed, dressed in the pajamas and robe he'd first arrived in, while he tried to scratch underneath a bandage on his arm and waited for Dr. Hunt.
