Apparently I'm supposed to say hello so... hello. (And now I can hear the Doctor scolding me!) I'm Captain Jack Harkness. I don't suppose anyone's seen the Doctor or my team anywhere? Usually when something odd happens one of them will be around.

Salve. I am Taras. I was once a Legionary from Rome, though my last posting was Jerusalem in some very troubled times. That was where I died. I am a Bachiyr, which I have been told is the same thing as a 'vampire'. I can assure you that I do not consume the blood of good and decent people. I refuse to do so. I have only targeted those who are evil. I have been told the blood of animals here can be consumed, which I can only hope is true. It was not possible at home - animal blood was too weak to sustain a Bachiyr - but if it can be done here, it will set my mind greatly at ease. And no doubt yours as well.

I went to the library to look for some evening entertainment, and then I spent a solid half hour staring at a painting on the wall. A woman in a green coat, with a round hat, looking into a cup of tea. She made me who she was, what answers she was looking for in a teacup. We don't have paintings like that at home. They're all portraits of royalty or grand deeds being done, the occasional landscape. Nothing like that. Loneliness in a frame.

I did find a book to spend the rest of the evening with. Has anyone else read Sense and Sensibility? I am not usually a great one for romances, but it was the first one I picked up where the language didn't leave me completely lost in the first five pages.

RESCUE & RECOVERY / MILITARY:

We need ten teams to go out and scour the areas surrounding Mount Weather, Camp Jaha, and the hundred's old dropship to find any clues of former Chancellor Thelonious Jaha's whereabouts. We're have more people come to say that they saw him before the not-such-an-accident with the blast doors at Camp Jaha. We need proof.

Sign-ups here. We'll be heading out tomorrow and I would suggest getting a good night's sleep and settling things for a few days. It's going to take two days to get to the dropship and another day and a half to get to Camp Jaha. If you need to be within Mount Weather distance for overnight, let me know here.
