So instead of a wasteland, we had people surviving on scraps, living under the Capitol's thumb, and, once a year, having to send two kids from each district into an arena to fight to the death in a big, televised, glorified tournament until only one of them survived.
I was in the middle of the rebellion against the Capitol before I came here. From what I've heard about the future, it'll succeed. But [...] my district was destroyed.
