Nathan hadn't admitted this to anyone, ever. Not so directly, anyway. The only times he'd ever even suggested it were when he was injured, and then he hadn't actually said the word abuse. Even Gold hadn't needed him to say it outright, although in retrospect he probably should have been a lot clearer with Gold than he had been.
"He was a good cop," he said finally. There were subtle hints of sadness, anger, shame, and disgust on his face; all together, it probably gave more detail than his words did. "But he wasn't a good parent."
