"I figured," she replied with a faint smile. Thursdays were a good night for the bar.
"Yeah? Too bad you didn't...I would've liked to see him. Though I doubt he would remember be," she said lightly, intent on keeping things easy between them. The desire to step closer to him and slide an arm around his waist like old times was strong, and she had to force herself to stay in place. When he mentioned her son, Maggie's eyes instantly softened, and she immediately followed Sam's gaze, not sorry to have the excuse to stare at Joshua again.
"Yeah...you want to meet him?" She barely paused in the question, even though she probably should have given it a lot more thought But secrets were hard to keep in a town like Storybrooke and he would have found out about Josh eventually anyway. This way, at least, she'd sort of had the chance to prepare. There wasn't much she could do to prepare Sam, but....well, she wasn't sure that conversation would ever actually come up, or that it even needed to.
"Josh!" She cupped her hands lightly around her mouth and called over to her son, deciding not to wait for an answer from her boss and former lover. "Come here - I want to meet someone." The little boy slid down the slide one more time, then ran over until he was within reach to launch himself at Maggie's leg. Long practice helped her to keep her balance as she gave a not-so-surprised "Oof!" and laughed. Reaching down, she picked him up and turned back to Sam.
"Josh, this is my friend Sam Mickens. Sam....this is Josh." She absently tilted her cheek against the boy's hair and looked over at Sam, eyes still soft.
