He didn't miss the way Lucifer's expression changed, it was slight, and anyone else would probably have missed it. But Gabriel knew his brother. Years, thousands of years, apart didn't change that. They were both angry, at each other, at the situation. But that one subconscious gesture had obviously been the right move.
"Sure it wasn't," Gabriel flashed a grin, "it's true you did, with help from myself and the ninja turtles." Not to mention the mark that kept their Aunt locked away. The mark that started all the trouble.
Watching his brother as he moved away, Gabriel toed at the ground, not following this time. "My Hero." Gabriel drawled, tilting his head, he shoved his hands in his pockets. "You know it's funny, you saving people."
