He had kept thoughts of his own angelic brothers far from the front, not wanting to overshadow this new thing between the two of them. Gabriel's reaction was comforting though, and Lucifer found himself calming. After all, that was all in the past.
He didn't wish to dwell in misery any more than necessary. He'd left hell after all. "It's in the past."
There was almost a finality to the words, except that Lucifer would forgive Gabriel many things. But maybe it would be easier now that Gabriel understood.
"Come now," Lucifer said, thumb brushing against Gabriel's lips. "Don't be glum. This is supposed to be a relaxing holiday, not wallowing in my past."
