WHO: Gwen Stacy and Matt Murdock
WHERE: Tunnels of the Mountain
WHEN: Thursday, May 7, afternoon/eveningish
WHAT: Matt says not to do the thing, Gwen does the thing, then gets caught.
RATING: TBD
You couldn't tell Gwen what to do, especially when it was in a let's-make-sure-civilians-don't-get-hurt way. Because Gwen didn't count herself as a civilian. Maybe she hadn't spent as much time fighting crime as most others that were in the area, but you had to start somewhere, right? Not like cops started off with a bazillion years of experience, and plus if she didn't listen to her father about staying safe and keeping out of this, how was she going to listen to anyone here? Okay, maybe there was the whole identity thing that had to be carefully monitored but Gwen was going for a walk. Just a walk. So far there was nothing at all harmful about this walk. It was somewhat familiar territory in that it was patrolling, except she normally was on top of buildings, not underground. But it could probably stand for the times she did have to follow someone into the sewer to keep it from harming the general population. Like... her boyfriend. "Oh, yeah, best thing to think about, Gwen," she mumbled to herself. Right because that's what she needed to think of when there was a creature out there who had known that bit of detail of her life and had spoken to her. But when it was there, it was just there no matter how hard she tried to push out the thought or cover it up with something else, like the lyrics of "Face It Tiger". It was only a minute or two more of wandering when she didn't have trouble with that anymore, because of the person ahead of her in the tunnel that looked a lot like the person who had told her to stay safe. Now her brain had no problem switching topics. Had he heard her? He hadn't turned around to look in her direction, but if she was going to keep going, she might have to walk around him. Which wasn't that big of an issue when you could crawl on walls. Gwen was tempted to backtrack and go down another way but the fact that Matt was now alone when he said he'd be with someone else made her wonder. Him being alone put him in more danger than her, but if she hung around, some steps back, then she'd at least be able to look out for him while continuing her patrolling at the same time. Decision made, time to flip up and walk on the ceiling. |
