He swallowed, and looked away. This was a rough tale to pass along. It was made all the worse by having a suspicion how the village had come to be attacked. Taking another deep breath, he looked back to Remus. "The whole village had been killed, Remus. They were all killed by a single animal, a large one, covered in fur."
It was surprisingly easy to fall into the role of adult, for although Neville could see the man that would eventually go on to teach him, he was overshadowed by the young man before him. A young man who appeared to be more child than adult, regardless of his age and what he'd endured. Gently Neville continued, "Is there anything about last month's transformation you feel the need to tell me?"
