The wolf hadn't liked being confined, but everything had been safe. Nathan had helped them sneak into the tunnels with James's Invisibility Cloak, and they'd warded and charmed the pod to be soundproofed, difficult to notice, and larger on the inside — big enough to accommodate three animals. Moony hadn't liked being chained to the wall, hadn't liked the small space, but after hours of pacing and clawing at the pod and biting at his paws, he finally settled down with Padfoot and Prongs long enough to sleep for a bit.
Remus had spent most of the day in bed after bandaging his arms and hands and cleaning out the light scratches across his nose and cheek. He slept through his meals, he got up only twice to use the bathroom and have a little bit of water, and by the time Neville came to see him most of the pain in his muscles and bones had faded away to a dull ache and his exhaustion was more manageable.
"That's kind of you," he said to Neville. He rubbed his eyes with bandaged knuckles and pushed himself up to sit. His hair was a wild mess, and he was in the same ratty striped pyjamas that he'd been in when he came here. "It ..." He frowned, focusing his attention on why Neville would stop by. "Is everything all right? Did something happen with Ruby?"
