Wed, 4 Aug 2005 - Auror Department, Ministry of Magic
Vicky walked into the office with a little more pep in her step than normal. She wasn't exactly known for being a morning person, particularly before her first cup of coffee, but today she'd rolled out of bed refreshed. She'd had the previous day off, which was always a good thing, and that was probably a contributing factor, but she knew most of it was probably the conversation she'd had with Harry on Monday. It was short and mostly to the point, but she'd left with some hope of reconciling things well enough with him.
After placing her things in her cube--and passing a couple of fellow Aurors who gave her rather puzzled looks--she headed toward the break room. Good mood or not, she wasn't going to tempt Fate by skipping her coffee ritual. Entering the room, she almost stopped in her tracks.
"Good morning, Ron," she said, voice carefully regulated even though her heartbeat had sped up. Bloody hell, she thought. Last time I let my guard down in the office. Naturally all things Harry eventually came back around to all things Ron, or they did now, but until that conversation Friday, things would stay just as they were. Especially at work. "I hope you didn't steal the last scone."
