THREAD Who: James Potter & his grandkids. What: Reuniting, meeting. Boasting magical ability. When: 14 January 2000. Late afternoon. Where: Three Broomsticks, Room 12. Rating: G? PG? Lily Luna's got a mouth on her. :) Incomplete.
Truth be told, James's Shield Charms were a bit rusty, and when Lily had relayed to him that Lily Luna (as they'd started calling her, to avoid confusion) had jokingly insinuated the hexing he'd accused her of upon their first meeting, he saw an opportunity to practice. That Lily Luna had asked to come back to stay with them pleased both he and Lily to no end, but everyone knew it was inevitiable that she go back to Hogwarts. Hopefully, Lily would get the position as Potions Master (mistress?) and then both she and James could relocate to Hogwarts, for the time being. Then they'd not only have a better place to stay than the Three Broomsticks, but also be close to their grandchildren. More nervous than he'd like to admit that he'd be meeting both of his grandsons for the first time, James tried to tidy up his and Lily's room as best as possibly. He didn't want to dwell on the inadequacy of their current lodgings; surely if things had panned out--what with the whole not-dying thing--his grandchildren could visit him in a comfortable house instead of quarters at the Three Broomsticks, but James doubted they'd stay in the room for long.
He'd been itching to go visit Zonko's, but Lily had always found some other task for him to complete before going, and he hadn't got around to it yet. Then, of course, there was Honeyduke's, and James assumed that he owed all three grandchildren piles of sweets for the years he'd missed out on. Lily'd headed out to meet up with McGonagall for paperwork pertaining to the job postion, and James was waiting to hear back from the Ministry post-registration. For now, all he had to do was sit around and wait, and it was driving him mad. After a few minutes of shoving clothes under the bed, he heard a knock at the door, and from the rising sound of voices outside, James reckoned his grandchildren were antagonizing one another. Over what, he had no idea, but opened the door anyway.
