Rose blushed, but her smile didn't fade. She gave a small laugh, "Sorry. I do tend to just let things slip out. My mind doesn't always process what's going to come out of my mouth. I've been told I don't really edit..." she rambled. When she was little, she told anyone and everyone whatever was on her mind, not bothering to leave out a single detail of her thoughts without even thinking about what might come of the consequences. She'd gotten better about it over the years, learning to think more before she opened her mouth, but sometimes it still happened.
"Optimism isn't always my thing, Professor," she admitted, looking down to her lap for a moment. Coming to the past had made her quite different, but in the future, she was said to be a bit cold hearted. It had never crossed anyone's mind that she might be an optimist, not even her own, but since she'd come back to the year 2000, something in her had changed. She quickly realized that she was taking too long and looked back up, "I think it was just that I didn't want to admit that I was sick. Thanks though," she said, lifting the piece of chocolate slightly before taking a bite. It made her feel instantly a little warmer, though it might have been the sudden rush of sugar.
