Chat recap!
Thanks to everyone who made it to chat! For everyone who didn't, here's a recap of some of the things we discussed. A full transcript is available if you want to read it all. It was long.

If you were not in chat (or hey, even if you were) and want to chime in on any of these topics, feel free to do so!

Also, apologies for the cruddy structure of this post... it was late when I wrote it, I'm sick, and long chat was long.

The first topic was a general question about how everyone feels game play is going for them so far - questions, concerns, issues, anything that we can use to improve the game in general. Also, anything that isn't clear or makes no sense.
-It was brought up that it is perhaps a bit difficult to come up with personal storylines.
-Quiva wanted steak.
- It seemed as though most of the questions were about the general structure and rules that exist in this world, so please let us know if there's anything you want to have clarified.

Secondly, we discussed whether or not the world as a whole felt too safe and/or overly structured for players.
- It was asked whether or not there were any anti-powered groups out there, and to clarify: yes. There are.
- AJ suggested that Cadets be doing more than just training.
- Frank suggested having some club activities played out.

We the mods, in order to form a more per... you get the joke. We had plans all along to shake things up if everyone was comfortable with shaking it up, so the question becomes just how severely we shake. Ideally, we would like to start having plots that would get everyone, not just the cadets, involved in some delicious drama. So - how much drama is everyone good with? How unsafe do you want us to make the world?
The consensus was that shaking the world up is a good plan... but that we don't want it to get too dark.

AJ has an awesome idea! Transcript because I'm lazy:
notagrain: I've got Warren in another game so I called it Wandering Warren, but Wandering Callisto doesn't have the same ring.
notagrain: But the concept is you post a very general open with a note in the subject of how many threads you'll take.
notagrain: so yeah, I'd post, say, Tony
notagrain: with a limit of four
QuivaGBS: Traveling Tony
notagrain: and someone could grab him at like, 9am
notagrain: and then while that thread was going on someone could also grab him at around 11am
notagrain: then someone else later in the day ans so on
Febz49: Sounds fun
notagrain: it wouldn't work for major plot or character development
notagrain: but for minor hanging out and socializing?
Febz49: But it's handy for individual characters
notagrain: it worked REALLY well

We need to start getting more interaction between age groups!
- Remember that everyone shares a campus, so you can easily run into people in the other schools.
- Also there are clubs. Note that since there are so many clubs, mods can't really run every single one, but players can definitely get together and play out club activities.
- There are also mentorships. We will put up a mentoring post soon to get it all sorted out.
- Clubs can be shifted around/pared down to be more managable.
- We can do an open house/student activity fair type event, with individual open threads for each club's booth. We could possibly do it over the course of a weekend. It might help to get some character interactions that probably should have happened already but haven't yet.

Robobabies. Like egg babies, but robots. This will be happening, and soon. Characters will be assigned a partner and will have to play parent to a little robotic child for a period of time.

We want ideas, if you have 'em! Pretty much anything is possible, it's just a matter of making it fit comfortably for everyone.

Upcoming plot: On a school field trip (possibly to the Smithsonian), an NPC manifests violently, taking out roughly one city block and causing fires, casualties, chaos, etc. It will give characters an opportunity to be heroes/victims/shocked bystanders.
- It gives us the whole 'yes, it's a pro powers world but powers are still inherently dangerous' issue.
- The location is debatable, we just thought to go for bonus by having them be more or less on their own.
- Part of this one is meant to lead into the possibility for larger conflict/trauma by having some of the fringe 'mutant' haters seize on this as an example of why THOSE DAMNED MUTIES ARE BAD
- Some characters can be injured in the event, some can play hero (including non-cadet characters). People to help calm panicking crowds, people to pull bodies out of the rubble... heck, people to shepherd lost and crying children and make them feel safe as well as, yeah, whoever might want to be a casualty.

We're going to work on making more political information for the game world available... but that will take time, as there is a lot to work out. For general reference, no, the rest of the world isn't this ordered or perfect.

Potential plot 2: Drugs! The initial idea was that the drug work like roofies, would most likely be administered in a similar fashion, and would temporarily remove powers. It would be something that just recently came up, so it's not entirely mainstream yet but it's picking up speed.
- After discussion, it was suggested that there also be a drug that grants temporary powers to baseline humans, but reacts in different ways for powered folk.
- From AJ: Grants VERY temporary powers, usually harmless, fade within an hour. BUT! non-mutants get fun random stuff. mutants? Can have weird reactions. And pre-manifestation kids? can manifest really violently. like, if Jay had been given it? full wings bursting out at once in like, seconds. 0-full power in seconds.
- Could be taken by people with powers in an attempt to get something different - If you're a speedster, maybe you've always wondered what it would be like to be a telepath. Or Callisto could take it and hope for something like x-ray vision for an hour or so.
- but powered folks can have complications. it was probably originally developed as an aid for late-bloomers then non-powered folks got their hands on it for a temporary "high", then powered folks thought "hey, why not check it out?"
- anything form increases your powers to takes it way completely, gives you a different one, you see stars and sparkles for an hour or you jsut fall saleep
- our NPC boom kid for the plot could be pre-manifestation and hopped up
- Jay'd say black market, never a 'legitimate' drug, developed to try and sell people the hope of powering their kid and then hit the black market b/c of the side effects?
- AJ says it could get slipped in, like hash brownies that aren't advertised as such? or LSD in the punch
- a bunch of characters were listed who might give it a shot just to see what's up.
- It would be an opt-in plot. If you don't want your character to get dosed, they won't. You create the situation surrounding their dosing.

So there it is! Sorry, everyone, for truncating it so much... there was just too much to cram it all into one post, and again if anyone wants the full transcript, let us know!

Thoughts, questions, concerns, monetary gifts, jokes, ideas, etc. are always welcome!
