Tony had spent a good portion of the morning and afternoon in his room. Sure, he had classes, but not important ones. He'd taken a break to go to math class, but that was mostly because he just plain liked it. Then it was back to work on his little project.

Babies. Robot babies.

Okay, so all he had out at the moment was one baby and it was in pieces, but still.

The voicebox in the head started to cry at him and he immediately reset it.

"I swear," he muttered. "I'm just going to give this damn thing words."

Warren had spent the majority of his afternoon in their room. He had a paper due and he liked to be thorough. They'd worked in their own special atmosphere; part silence, part tinkering metal, part tapping keys and a few turned pages or mouse clicks. It was a rhythm that had become so routine, Warren often had trouble sleeping or focusing when he was on his own. It wasn't so much a fear of being alone, as the loss of the comfortable background noise. The presence of Tony, and even upon occasion, the scent of him.

Tony was Warren's best friend, but they'd spent so many years together, when they finally graduated...it'd probably feel more or less like a divorce. The joke wasn't lost on him.

"Can't make them curse, Tony," he replied, chair swiveling round to face him. He stretched, arms and wings above his head. "And I don't see you going the traditional route for baby's first words."
