"I think I fair pretty well even when left to my own devices, thank you." Amarissa responded. Her tone was more teasing than dry, but the note was still there.
After all, to be fair, she had somehow managed to take of herself before James Potter had walked into the picture. And sometimes that meant cooking for a small child as well. Not that he knew that. Or that she was really planning on telling him that any time soon. Still, the familiar banter was nice and comforting. This was she knew between them. This is what had always existed between them. Before they had really even knew each other, there had been this easy push and pull.
"Did you?" Amarissa asked, barely even looking up at him as he suggested it. Instead she merely continued to eat, her head lowered a bit. Still, she couldn't help the small smile that spread across her face. Wasn't that a kind of familiar ground as well? It had been one of the first times they had been together. Merlin, she'd be entirely too drunk that night. The prospect of a bath seemed wonderful after the stress of the day.
"Well," she murmured, looking up at him with a serious expression on her face, as if there were some kind of debate over whether or not a bath would happen. Because now it definitely would. "I suppose since it seems to be one of your favorite hobbies, something can be arranged."
