Amarissa didn't respond to his last comment. It seemed easier just to let conversation relating to any potential child rearing or changes resulting from children alone right now. He knew. And that was the important part. That was the part she had set out to deal with this evening. The rest they could figure out later. These things would be dealt with as they became prevalent issues, and right now, the most important thing was to find out whether she was legitimately pregnant or not. And if she wasn't, they go out drinking and perhaps have a few laughs over how silly this conversation had been or something along those lines. Probably. Hopefully.
So, she remained quiet, continuing to work on the food that he had made. It was pretty good too. His cooking had improved, unless Amarissa missed her guess. She didn't really fear for her life when she went to eat things that he had made. Although, she wasn't intending on getting in a car with him any time soon, but that was still another story.
"Dinner's good," she murmured after a moment, needing something to break up the heaviness that still filled the air. It was a weak change of subject, but one none the less, and also one that she hoped he would accept. She looked up at him and smiled faintly. "Thank you."
