Amarissa shut her eyes after a moment; she could feel a faint headache forming in her temples. She ran her fingertips lightly over them. She wondered faintly if she should have waited to tell him. Perhaps it would have been better to wait and see if everything was confirmed, but she also knew, given the opportunity to do it all over, she would still tell him. It didn't seem right to go to a doctor for this and not at least give him some notion. The trouble was that they could dredging up all these issues and having such a heated discussion for no reason. Whether or not it was right to tell everyone about the resurrected individuals, whether or not he could children, whether he was still legally married, whether he was wife was coming back. Whether they were too close. Whether she would ever be emotionally mature enough for any level of commitment, and how she had one child to help raise already as a result of her sister having a child unknown to them. What issues didn't this potential problem raise?
"That doesn't mean it's going to come out now. It could be years." And that was excluding if the magic bringing them back held. It might not need to come out if that was the case. She shook her head a bit. "And the reaction to it might be extremely violent, James. It's a volatile situation." She paused. "You talk about how you're worried about going me going back to Spain to find out, but what do you anticipate the world doing if they found out you've had another child? They could take it away."
She accepted the bowl and fork from James with a slight nod. Remaining where she was against the counter she lifted it bit, and then used the fork to catch a few noodles. The food was a nice center, something that made her feel a bit calmer and she gratefully ate a few bites. She really needed to do something about the burns still too; they were throbbing faintly, not really painful, but she needed to make sure that they didn't get infected. It seemed almost odd to think of such mundane, common worries when there was so many other things going on.
