It was still very strange, Amarissa had to admit. Sometimes it just threw her entirely off balance to have him in her home. Especially when he was doing things that looked suspiciously like cooking dinner. Her initial reservations about whatever it was they were doing had softened a bit over time. At first, when things had threatened to become too personal, she had seriously considered returning home. It was the only thing that she could think of to solve this problem. There were other Aurors that could take care of them, and probably better than she did, and in manage to maintain a more professional relationship. But she hadn't left. Sometimes she wondered if it was a mistake. She didn't doubt that if anyone from work found out, there would be some serious repercussions. Perhaps even if her title as an Auror would be revoked. But here she was anyway, still in England with one resurrected James Potter cooking in her kitchen. And she was possibly -
She knew she froze for a moment too long upon seeing him. He was going to know that something was off, and that something was up. Amarissa managed to regain herself after a moment, and moved out of the doorway of the kitchen and headed inside. She glanced before over at what he was working on at the moment, but refrained from commenting. It smelled good enough anyway. And he hadn't managed to poison anyone that she knew of quite yet.
"Busy day," Amarissa affirmed with a slight nod. She ran one hand through hair, trying to get it to look slightly more acceptable as she leaned up against the counter across from the stove; she was trying to stay out of his way. He looked quite intent with what he was doing.
When he came over with the shot, she was about to gladly accept it, and then faltered again. That probably wasn't the best idea, right? She crossed her arms in front of her and shook her head. It did provide a most interesting opportunity to break the news to him though, didn't it? She just didn't know how to go about this conversation. Saying 'We need to talk' just didn't seem to bode well. She didn't want him to overreact. Because, there was the possibility that it was nothing. But there was also the possibility that it was something. And she had to give him some kind of explanation for why she was going back to Spain for a day. Or possibly a few. It was so much more complicated than the typical type of situation. And she had never really had to contend with this in a normal scenario before. It just made her incredibly nervous, because chances were, if things turned positive, she was going to have explain everything to superiors in Spain. And that wouldn't go well for her, and probably not for James either. It would mean - It would mean things that she just generally didn't want to think about. She bit down on her lower lip, and shifted her arms a little to avoid the burn.
"Listen," she said finally. Best to just be direct, right? It was going to get out there in the open anyway. And was there really anyway to slowly break this sort of thing to him? When, not a few months earlier, she had told him that he was incapable of ever having children again? "I might be pregnant."
