Thank goodness. More than a little of James was relieved when she just went with it, when she snapped back into more of the Amarissa James knew. Some girls were just emotional, and that was perfectly fine so long as James had the general idea from the beginning. And really, he didn't quite like to linger on what it would have meant for Amarissa to fall apart over being challenged in the continuous-living department. Generally speaking, as long as you came back it turned dying into something of a 'no harm, no foul' kind of arrangement. At least it did to James.
He grinned back at her.
"And to think, cara mia, people say I have no impulse control," he sighed with a dramatic roll of his eyes. Quickly changing gears he added with a wink, "And you should hear the things I don't say."
It was more a joke than a reflection of his lewd mind, not that she was likely to be getting that catalog anytime soon. Such things were best spoken aloud in either amusing or one-upping Sirius, or seeing just how far he had to go before Remus managed to tear his eyes out of a book. James stood up, extending his hand so she wouldn't have to hobble to her feet. Ever the gentleman, James noted of himself, even when inviting women into bed. Sure it was her bed and he wasn't exactly inviting himself, but- well, actually, literally inviting yourself into someone's bed kind of went against the whole 'gentleman' vibe.
