He nodded a bit after she explained. Taking another drink from his cup he found he'd rather given up on the notion, despite Remus' inclination for solving nearly any ill with high cocoa percentage. Chocolate helped, but usually only when something was wrong with you and at the moment there wasn't really all that much wrong with James.
For all Amarissa may have insisted she was fine, she wasn't moving fine. She still looked like she was favoring her left side a bit, her energy lower than normal and her tongue not near as sharp. Then again, maybe those were just side-effects of the procedure.
"That's it then, no more trouble with it? What'd they use to use it out?" he asked with an almost wary curiosity.
It was possible that he didn't want to know, but how could he not want to know? When it had been explained to him there was the distinct possibility that they'd never come out and she'd either just have to live with it, or... not live with it. However, he wasn't exactly keen for a response along the lines of 'oh, well, now that you mention it I'm afflicted with a curse that will any moment now end me life.' Precisely those such scenarios were the reasons why James had to ask. His own imagination was plenty good at coming up with potential outcomes all his own.
"And just what the hell was that thing, and what're you doing running around getting those sorts of things jabbed into you?" finally his tone started to relax a bit as he gave over and supplied voice to his train of thought.
It would just be too tiring to try to feign disinterest.
